French Toast with Pears and Cinnamon

step1In a pan over medium heat, sauté pears with butter and brown sugar for about 4 – 5 minutes until tender. Remove from heat when done. In the meantime, in a large bowl combine eggs, cinnamon, milk, and vanilla.

step2Soak bread slices in mixture for 3 mins until saturated.

step3Spray a skillet with non stick spray or coat lightly with butter and sauté each soaked bread slice until golden on each side. Top with Del Monte® pear mixture.

step4Sprinkle cinnamon, drizzle maple syrup, or top with chopped pecans if desired.

  • 2 medium Del Monte® pears, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 6 slices whole wheat bread
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • ¼ cup pecans, chopped (optional)
